Each tour is given its own difficulty rating beginning with either one snow crystal, one karabiner or one ice cube, based on the demands it places upon participants. Several tours are actually custom-tailored to your personal abilities and expectations.
Winter
| If you have mastered a parallel turn on a "black" hill, then you can participate. Stamina good enough to handle ski-touring climbs of 300 – 800 vm, equivalent to 1 - 2 hours of skiing. |
| Parallel turn in deep snow, the technical difficulty of downhills is slight. Climbs of 800 – 1200 vm ( 2 – 4 hrs. ) Ski-touring experience is an advantage. |
| Reliable parallel curves in all types of snow, rises from 1000 - 1500HM |
| Highest difficulty level. Requires outstanding physical condition and safe skiing in all types of snow. Able to use crampons. Must master ascending with crampons and sharp turns in steep terrain. Areas of easy scrambling are possible. |
Ice Climbing WI = Water Ice
| 45° - 60° angle, compact ice |
| 60° - 70° angle, compact ice |
| 70° - 80° angle, compact ice, short steep swing-ups, punctuated by flatter rest spots |
| Constant 80° angle or vertical passages, compact ice |
| Constant 85° - 90° angle, compact ice, almost vertical with good securing points |
Summer
| Anyone can participate, the main thing is you enjoy being out in the open country. Hikes of 2 – 3 hrs. |

| Good condition (hikes of 6 – 8 hrs.), surefootedness, no dizziness problems are essential. Crampons may be used, though crampon experience is not a requirement. |
