Ice climbing is an alpine discipline, one which has garnered a growing number of fans in recent years. We will show you correct crampon technique, technique for climbing on steep ice, as well as safe use of ice screws.
The touring area which encompasses the Tuxer Voralpen is ideal terrain for newcomers to alpine traverses. Due to optimal snow conditions, you will be able to cut fresh tracks across the sunny mountainsides and high meadows until well into springtime. Small, exceptionally cozy huts lie along our trail, providing rest and welcome refreshments on each of the stages.
After the first 300 vertical meters, a ski-touring area reveals itself before us that we had probably not expected to find here in the Zillertal. The steep rock faces of the Höllenstein, imposing gullies, long and steep cirques are reminiscent of the endless ski slopes of the Dolomites. But you can also find easy ski tours here, leading through sparse, not-too-steep forests of pine, with a real appeal even for those tourers with less lofty ambitions.

The tours are easy, rich in variety, and highly popular with our local tourers. They lead out across sunny meadows and up to the beautiful summits of the Tuxer Voralpen mountains.

This is a designation we give to those tours that demand a certain level of physical conditioning and that, due to their remoteness, often allow for relatively few wintertime ascents. We are unable to guarantee either the snow quality or the avalanche conditions, though we can promise tours that are incomparably unique, tours that not every ski-tourer can cope with.
With snowshoes on their feet, avid mountaineers and hikers can continue to pursue their passion even during the winter. Outfitted with snowshoes and telescopic poles, and led by a mountain guide with a keen eye for avalanche conditions, you will be able to immerse yourself in our wintery, secluded alpine landscapes. We will hike out across the pristine winter blanket spread over our local mountains, up to one of the tranquil mountaintops of the Zillertal Alps.
The Zillertal, with its countless downhill opportunities away from the regular ski slopes during the height of winter, along with the Hintertuxer Glacier with its always reliable snow conditions, provide an ideal setting for our deep-snow courses. The goal is to be able to ski safely in deep snow and alpine terrain. The lifts provide a quick, easy way to make your way back up into the mountains, allowing us to focus on technique exercises and reach our goal of enjoyable deep-snow skiing as rapidly as possible.
This program features easy ski tours in the Tuxer Alps and environs. The climbs are moderate (400 - 800 vertical meters), and with tips from the mountain guide, you will quickly master those first sharp mountainside turns. You will learn to recognize the relationship between weather and the avalanche situation, allowing you to make the right decisions. We put climbing techniques, finding the optimal track, deep-snow technique and avalanche skills into practice.
We begin our tour amid the sparse forests of Sidantal Valley, passing rustic mountain huts, our day's goal constantly before our eyes, the Rastkogel Hut at 2117m. There is nothing more wonderful than making your way through a secluded alpine world blanketed deep in snow.
Freeride is all about – playful skiing/boarding on mountainsides of deep-snow and fresh powder, exploiting natural terrain features. Your mountain guide will show you the best spots in the Zillertal, and where to find the optimal line for your run. All the necessary safety gear and radical freeride skis will make your day perfect. We'll be able to reach most of the freeride runs easily, either by lift or by ascending just a matter of a few meters.
The Großvenediger is one of the big dream ski mountains in Austria. For many ambitious ski mountaineer, it is the culmination of the Tour season, even to stand on the Großvenediger.
